Fun Food As Medicine Talk
with founder of FAMMá & Chef Lando

Saturday June 13, 2026
Time 10am-12pm

TERI COMMON GROUNDS CAFE
555 Deer Springs Rd
San Marcos, CA

During brunch, Your Asian Auntie LaLa will introduce you to Asian foods, traditions, and healing philosophies well documented through over 2,000 years of Chinese food wisdom. She’ll also explore how modern science continues to validate many ancestral food traditions. Chef Lando will briefly go over foundations of health and nourishment, including brain and gut health, and why food diversity matters for stronger immunity and resilience. She’ll also offer practical steps on how to nourish yourself and your family in modern life.

Chef Lando is the author of two books, Get Off the Ducking Phone, a humorous illustrated adult children’s book, and Food As Medicine, a functional wellness journal and recipe book. She has presented for organizations and publications including Real Simple Magazine, Berry Good Foundation, Food Tank, Speak! Move! Change!, Wanderlust Festival, and many more.

For over 15 years, she has personally cooked for individuals navigating chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, women’s health challenges, and postpartum recovery. Raised between Chinese and Vietnamese traditions while growing up close to the land, she learned everything from growing food and preserving ingredients to cooking from scratch and using food intentionally for nourishment and healing.

She has worn many hats over the years: Chef. Farmer. Fermentation and food preservationist. Nutritionist. Philosopher. Humorist. And now… your Asian Auntie LaLa :)

Come eat, learn, laugh, and hang out!  And don’t forget to stroll just across the street to the Golden Door Summer Makers Market right after!
